Once there were Romans
There was once you
waking down these streets
living you life
so different to mine
These streets are full
of dust and dirt
the heat everywhere
a boiling city
People rushing everywhere
the noise of cars
to noisy for my ear
busy people everywhere
Tourists running
cameras flashing
children screaming
doves all around
How was it back
back in your time
when you lived here
in the eternal city
No cars
but coatches all around
long dresses for men and women
the aera of Ceasar
There still is
a magic touch
in all old ruins
I somehow can feel you
This city is yours
you built it yourself
will always be your masterpiece
athough you're long time gone
Once there were Romans ...
waking down these streets
living you life
so different to mine
These streets are full
of dust and dirt
the heat everywhere
a boiling city
People rushing everywhere
the noise of cars
to noisy for my ear
busy people everywhere
Tourists running

children screaming
doves all around
How was it back
back in your time
when you lived here
in the eternal city
No cars
but coatches all around

There still is
a magic touch

I somehow can feel you
This city is yours
you built it yourself
will always be your masterpiece
athough you're long time gone
Once there were Romans ...
